HIFA COURSES
First Aid For Everyone - Everything You Need
As a training and qualification provider, we look to provide First Aid Training to suit everyones needs and abilities and aim to deliver each course in a friendly and welcoming manner which caters for the needs of the attendees. We offer courses with fully accredited certification as well as courses which offer a non-accredited path to First Aid knowledge and we do not see any barrier in ability or age, you're never too young or too old to gain knowledge in how to help others and to keep yourself safe should you find yourself in an incident. We also look to adopt a flexible approach to the training location and can potentially deliver the course at any location deemed suitable, from home to workplace, please do feel free to discuss options that you would prefer when you contact us. The courses detailed below offer a comprehensive range of learning options from fully accredited First Aid at Work Certification through to New Born First Aid aimed at new parents and we would encourage you to contact us further to discuss what your needs maybe and how we can help you fulfil them.
FIRST AID AT WORK
FAA Level 3
3 Days
Our premier course, offering an FAA Level 3 First Aid at Work Qualification to those who successfully complete the course. Running over 3 days this course can cater for up to 12 delegates at a time and at a location which suits the participants, this could even be at the place of work depending on the locations facilities and its suitability to facilitate delivery of the course.
EMERGENCY FIRST AID AT WORK
FAA Level 3
1 Day
This is a one day course providing candidates with the essential skills to be an Emergency First Aider. The course provides the successful attendee with a FAA approved Level 3 Certificate, ideal for small businesses or individuals wishing to gain an approved qualification for their skill set.
MINI MEDICS - PRESCHOOL TRAINING
1 Hour
A brilliant, fun introduction to the very basics of First Aid. Ideal for Pre-Schools and Nurseries, it provides the children with a relaxed and fun introduction to the basic principles of First Aid, identifying if something is wrong, what actions they may safely take to summon help and of course they receive a HIFA's Certificate of Attendance.

MINI MEDICS - JUNIORS
3 Hours
This is a step up from the basic course and is aimed at Primary Schools, after school junior sports clubs, organisations such as Cubs or Brownies and local community groups. This is a basic introduction to First Aid and Defibrillation which is proving popular with all age groups and is tailored to nurture all abilities. Children learn the importance of First Aid knowledge and critically how to be safe when presented with a situation. Upon completion all attendees receive a HIFA Certificate of Attendance.

STUDENT FIRST AID
FAA Level 2
3 Hours
With First Aid Training becoming compulsory in Secondary Schools, HIFA are please to offer a FAA Level 2 approved course specifically tailored to meet and exceed the training required. Students who successfully complete this course will be issued with a Student First Aid Certificate valid for 3 years.
BASIC LIFE SUPPORT
FAA Level 2
3 Hours
This FAA Level 2 course provides in-depth training and certification in the provision of Basic Life Support (BLS). Attendees will be provided with the most up to date methods in the provision of BLS and will finish the course confident that they can carry out the process should they be presented with the worst case scenario.
BASIC LIFE SUPPORT
NON-REGULATED
3 Hours
For those wishing to gain knowledge of Basic Life Support (BLS) but who do not need to be fully certified, HIFA are pleased to offer a BLS course at an affordable cost. We will provide a HIFA certificate of attendance and can provide training at a host of locations such as Community Centres, Church Halls, Club Houses and even in your own home.
BLS & SAFE USE OF AN AED
FAA Level 2
4 Hours
Coronary and heart disease (CHD) is one of the UK's biggest killers. For those who work with or maybe live with someone at risk or suffering from this condition this course provides knowledge in how to safely carry out Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and competently operate an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). This FAA Level 2 course will provide successful candidates with the necessary skill set to perform potentially life saving treatment before and up to professional help arriving.
DEFIBRILLATION
FAA Level 2
(CPR & AED SKILLS)
1 Day
This FAA Level 2 course offers an in depth look into the use and operation of a defibrillator and can be an excellent supplementary course for Appointed First Aiders looking to further their knowledge and skill set without committing to the full First Aid at Work qualification.
DEFIBRILLATION ANNUAL REFRESHER
Half Day
Designed to keep skills fresh and up to date, this course offers attendees a time efficient refresher in the responsibilities and use of an AED.
APPOINTED PERSON
2 Hour
This is a time efficient course to qualify as an Appointed Person. This course provides the attendee with a comprehensive understanding of their role and responsibilities once appointed.
ANNUAL REFRESHER FOR FIRST AIDERS
Half Day
Whilst not a requirement as certification generally lasts for 3 years, it is generally recommended that First Aiders (FAW, EFAW, etc...) undertake an annual refresher to maintain skills and understanding. This has day course looks to provide the attendee with an assurance of their skills and capabilities as well as ensuring they are up to date with methods and procedures.
FIRST AID AT WORK
RE-QUALIFICATION
FAA Level 3
2 Days
This course is for those individuals who hold the FAA Level 3 - First Aid at Work Ceritifcate, allowing them to recertify before their current qualification lapses and a full course retake is required. Successful attendees will receive an FAA Level 3 - First Aid at Work Certificate valid for 3 years. Please note: You must be holding a current Level 3 First Aid Certificate which is due to expire in order to attend this course.
PAEDIATRIC FIRST AID
FAA Level 3
2 Days
Whether you work with children professionally or you want to have extended knowledge of how to specifically treat a child should they become sick or injured then this course will have you covered. This FAA Level 3 approved course will provide successful attendees with in-depth knowledge, the confidence to provide assistance and a certificate valid for 3 years. HIFA also offer a continuing support service to attendees for the duration of their certification should any queries arise.
EMERGENCY PAEDIATRIC FIRST AID
FAA Level 3
1 Day
This short course provides the attendee with a basic grounding in providing emergency paediatric first aid. This includes the skill set to provide Cardiopulmonary Recitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillation (AED) treatment in the period between calling for professional help and it arriving. Successful attendees will receive a FAA Level 3 Certificate valid for 3 years.
OXYGEN THERAPY ADMINISTRATION
FAA Level 3
1 Day
There are several illnesses and conditions which lead to an individual needing supplemental oxygen, or oxygen therapy. This course is tailored towards both professional care providers and those who live with and provide assistance to individuals who require Oxygen Therapy. Successful attendees will obtain a FAA Level 3 Certificate valid for 3 years.
IMMEDIATE MANAGEMENT OF ANAPHYLAXIS
FAA Level 3
1 Day
Anaphylaxis is a severe and potentially life-threatening allergic reaction which can deteriorate rapidly, also known and anaphylactic shock. In sufferers who are prone to severe reactions, an auto-injector (EpiPen) maybe required. This course aims to provide attendees with the necessary skill set to react to and manage and episode of anaphylaxis before professional assistance can arrive. Whether it is in a professional care capacity or care of a family member, this course will provide the successful attendee with an FAA Level 3 Certificate valid for 3 years.
NEW BORN FIRST AID
2 Hours
HIFA understands the worries that are associated with being a new born parent. This short and informal course can be delivered anywhere, even in the comfort of your own home. The course aims to provide parents with the skill set to cope should the unthinkable occur to your baby and you need to manage an emergency incident before professional help can arrive.
